1. Greetings.
Step II Presentation
1. Leading
Show a farm, let Ss talk:
What are there on the farm.
Show a hen, describe it.
Learn to read the title: The Little Red Hen
2. Look at Page 1and talk:
What is the hen doing? (She is watering the flowers. She is working.)
How does she feel? (She is hot and tired.)
What other animals can you see? (A pig, a mouse and a cat.)
What are they doing? (They are watching the Little Red Hen.)
T: So the Little Red Hen say: Can you help me?
Ask some students to read and act the sentence: Can you help me?
T: Will they help her?
3. Look at Page 2 and talk:
What are they doing?
(The pig is eating. The mouse is sleeping. The cat is listening to music.)
Act it out group by group.
4. T: Are they really doing these things?
Ss: No. They aren’t. They are lazy.(Write the lazy on the board.)
5. Look at Page 3 and talk:
T: Look! Autumn is coming.What can you see on this page? What is the hen doing?
Ss: We can see many corns. The Little Red Hen is working.
T: I’m the Little Red Hen. You are the pig , mouse and the cat.
Ss: What are you doing, Little Red Hen?
T: I’m working. Can you help me?
Ss: No, we can’t.
T: Guess, what will the pig say? And the mouse, the cat?
Students guess. Then teacher show page four, and learn to read jigsaw. And then pick out four kids to act out.P3 and P4.
6. Look at P5 and P6, read, discuss and act in group.
三只小动物又会找什么样的借口呢?
7. P7 and P8.
T: What is the Little Red Hen doing?
Ss: She is eating.
T: What are the pig, cat, and mouse doing?
Ss: They are watching.
T: What will they say?
Ss: ...
T: Will the Little Red Hen share the cake?
Ss: No, she won’t.
Pick out a student to act out the hen:
You can’t have it. You are lazy animals!
T: So the pig, cat and mouse are lazy animals. How do you think of the Little Red Hen?
Ss: She is hard-working.

8. Listen and repeat the story.
9. Divide the story into four parts, choose your favourite part and act it out with your partner.
10. Pick out some groups to give a show.
11. Teacher put a red hat, take out a cake. Act and ask:
I’m working. Who can help me?
Students answer: I can help you. And share the cake.
反思:
通过一次次的磨课,才有最后的呈现。根据伙伴们的建议,我将图片环游分解成图片环游加自主阅读,合作阅读和表演的方式,使得阅读方式不再单一。同时,我又修改了整体表演的部分,把故事分为四个部分,降低表演的难度,给多一些孩子上台的机会。最后,我又根据同事的建议,将联系生活实际的讨论改为师生表演,再次激趣。遗憾的是,在最后一个环节,若能让学生说完:I can help you!之后,真正地帮助Little Red Hen, 再来分享蛋糕,就更完美了。
