—Hello. Gerry speaking.

—Hello, Gerry. It’s me John here. ___1___.

—Well, I’m terribly sorry, but I’m not feeling very well. —Is that all? ___2___

—No, I’m sorry. I was sick all night. I think it must be the fish I ate last night.

—Well, I think you should have at least phoned Kate and told her you weren’t coming to the meeting.

—___3___ I’m sorry about that. Anyway, I think I’ll be able to get in to work tomorrow. —___4___

—I won’t. Thanks for calling. —___5___.

A. Why didn’t you phone?

B. OK. Take care and don’t eat any more fish. C. Why weren’t you here at the meeting? D. That’s all ri ght.

E. We thought you might have had an accident or forgotten the day or something. F. I’ll be glad to see you again.

G. Yes, I suppose I should have done so.

(Well, I’m terribly sorry, but I’m not feeling very well. I think you should have at least phoned Kate and told her you weren’t

coming to the meeting.

2. 选E。从上下文可知John 对Gerry 未能来开会有些埋怨, 甚至对他的“病”有些怀疑, 所以John 问了这样一句话Is that all?(就这些吗Is that all?, 从语境上看, 只能选E。

I think you should have at least ... G(...I should have done so。 另外一个重要的线索是下一句的I won’t, 有经验的考生看出:在所提供的选项中只有...don’t eat any more fish.

That’s all right. / You are all right. / Please don’t mention it. / It’s my pleasure.

了表的(...checked a watch。 2. 选 D。此题从其答语 Well, quite slowly — about 10 miles an hour.

But they were still red when he went over them 推 知 (尤其是 still red 两词) 。 4. 选 A。 1. 选 C。这从下句的答语 I’d like to. 正因为下文这个答语 In the classroom.

I shall be very glad to spend ..., 4. 选 G。 这从上文的...ask everyone at the party to give a performance. I will. My voice is not very pleasant to the ear, though. 5. 选 A。 I heard you sing once. I’m sure you’ll be the star of our New Year party. The nearest one is the City Restaurant. I’m --er-- I’m afraid I don’t quite ... Can I take a bus? 对方先是肯定地回答说:Of course you can. It’s only a few minutes’ walk. Yes, this is Wu Ming speaking.

Well, quite slowly — about 10 miles an hour. But they were still red when he went over them 推 知(尤其是 stillred 两词) 。 4. 1. 选 C.这从下句的答语 ‘d like to. 正因为下文这个答语 In the classroom. I shall be very glad to spend …… 4. 选 G.这从上文的……ask everyone at the party to give a performance. I will. My voice is not very pleasant to the ear,though. I heard you sing once. I ‘m sure you’ll be the star of our New Year party.

The nearest one is the City Restaurant. I‘m ——er—— I’m afraid I don‘t quite …… Can I take a bus? 对方先是肯定地回答说:Of course you can. It only a few minutes’ walk.
