摘要：The invention relates to a method for resetting a file system (8) on a portabledata storage medium (1) to an initial state, wherein the file system (8) contains files (10),each file (10) contains a specific file content (15, 16), and all files (10) which, prior to thefile system (8) being reset, have been provided with a file content (15) which differs fromthe initial state of the file system (8) have a flag (18). The method comprises thefollowing steps: the file system (18) is searched for files (10) having the flag (18); the filecontent (15) of a file (10) having the flag (18) is overwritten with an original file content(16). The original file content (16) is stored in a backup file (12) in the file system (8), andthis backup file (12) contains the original file contents (16) of all flagged files (10) in thefile system (8) in the initial state.
