摘要：The invention relates to a method for charging sealed maintenance-freeaccumulators, preferably lead accumulators, with a thixotropic gel as electrolyte. In thismethod, constant-current charging phases alternate with constant-voltage ones. Thisincreases the rate of recombination of oxygen to form water to such an extent that thewater losses still occurring do not limit the service life of the battery.
